Maggi sure loves her brothers! Zack and Michael are doing excellent! As usual, they are keeping Maggi extremely happy and entertained. It is great having our little family together.
Maggi had a wonderful report from her NEUROLOGIST today at EGLESTON. In the middle of August, a couple of weeks after being home from her last hospital stay on 8/6/07, she quit breathing in the middle of the night. She reacted like she normally did after her episode of seizures she was experiencing last year. This time, there was only one difference, she went limp. The NEUROLOGIST said that seizures do not cause a child’s body to go limp, he is concerned that there is a sleep apnea problem. We are thrilled that she will not have to be placed on seizure medication.
Now, it is off to getting an appointment for a sleep study! It sounds like that is what she has been experiencing and we are looking to have her placed back on the heart monitor again. I must say, that it sure helped us sleep better when she wore it her first year.

Maggi attends a team meeting of surgeons at Scottish Rite Hosptial’s Craniofacial Clinic. These surgeons will map out their approach to treating Maggi’s deformed palet, deformed right eye socket, dental/orthodontic issues, right eye muscle/nerve surgery and skull. Also, a speech specialist will attend to discuss Maggi’s swallowing difficulties. We have a long road ahead of us with treating Maggi’s deformities from the chin up, 12 to 20 SURGERIES…we have yet to discuss surgery for her scoliosis. We see orthopedics in November.
LEG BRACES
Yes, those, too. Our little one is having difficulty with one leg turning out and major issues with the knee popping out of place.
COOOOOOL DEVELOPMENTS
Maggi is doing so GREAT in SWIM THERAPY. She is really getting strong and has gotten comfortable with Mrs. Tammy and is not crying during the entire session! We are thrilled to see her kick those legs!
Maggi is also trying to stand up on her own in her little walker we have. We encourage her to stand up by cheering her on and she does it all by herself! Miracles are among us!
WE LOVE YOU!
